Old Man...Winter

This could be deadly...
A few weekends ago was great Saturday was in the upper 60's maybe even low 70's. Sunshine and blue skies, absolutely beautiful and a nice change from the dreary winter months we have had. That is until that following Monday night, in to early Tuesday. The Springfield area was predicted to get up to 15 inches of snow on Tuesday (an inch an hour). And before the snow there was the freezing rain.... Oh happy day! The news was saying that this was going to be the worst winter storm to hit Springfield since 1911.

Snow is beautiful in theory and even nice for a couple of days. With that being said however,  after more than 48 hours it becomes very inconvenient. School was cancelled all week and the boys were cooped up in the house due to the frigid temperatures. Which for any of you that have kids, being stuck indoors and deprived of sunshine makes not only the kids nuts, but mommy goes a little crazy!
Opening my front door...

I am so excited to see the grass and pavement again. Snow has been hiding everything for almost two weeks now. Seeing the sunshine melt the snow away is going make this girl very, very happy.Bring on the "heat wave" this weekend, temperatures in the 50's! Can I get an Amen?
