First off, I must be crazy to have taken a 7 AM math class. However, it is only twice a week so it could be worse, I guess... but for those of you who know me; the class itself is enough of a challenge.
5:30 AM- Alarm goes off and I stumble out of bed. Straight to the window I go. Yay, snow.... and its still snowing!!! Back over to my phone... I check for messages cancelling class, but to no avail...DANG! Luke then decides due to the poor road conditions he will drive me to my class.* We both get ready and around quickly, knowing we will have to leave earlier than normal to battle the roads. Luke warmed up the car and loaded the boys...
6:11 AM- Text message from OTC- Day classes canceled due to weather. Decision about night classes made later today. Ugh! I got up and woke my entire family up, just to have class cancelled as we were walking out the door. Oh well... back to bed we went.
Later that day, I bundled the boys up and we went outside to play. With it only being 16 degrees out, I wasn't sure how long we would last. They had a blast, they made snow angels and pushed trucks through the mounds of snow they made. Once our fingertips were frozen and our cheeks were rosy, we headed inside for some hot cocoa. All in all the snow day was successful!
* Having lived in Arizona a majority of my life, Luke seems to believe that I have never driven in the snow. Therefore, I lack the skills or the knowledge to do so. Yet, I have made it from point A to point B numerous times in the snow, or less than perfect driving conditions. None the less, I have learned that this is one of those things that help him feel like the "man" so I say nothing!
